So much home construction being done!! Amidst all this hustle and bustle the one thing that is going through my mind, of all things, is what will I put above my fireplace?!! You won't believe what is currently there, haha.

I guess this belonged to my fiance's father.....his father killed this deer himself at age 13. It creeps me out and it is not going to stay!!  I have no idea what to put there. Maybe I should put a clock, a huge picture, crazy art piece.....plants? I'm just not sure what to put up there. Maybe some inspiration will come to me later. I'm just waiting to come across something and just have that "A-ha" moment. Its been a month and hasn't happened yet. Then again I am thinking maybe I should paint something to put up there myself. We shall see....we shall see.

Other then my fireplace pandemic, the wood floors are in the process of being brought back to life. I could not believe all the dirt that was underneath the carpet when it was pulled up!!

Very disgusting if you ask me. Just think about how many sneezes were caused because of this collection of dirt that you can never reach unless you tear up the carpet. I'm so happy that all of this house work is coming together wonderfully. Guess what was hiding underneath that carpet!!!

Very gorgeous ORIGINAL hardwood floors. This is the wood that was there when the house was built in the 50's. Now I am considering just having all the rooms wood floors.... what do you think? Should I have hardwood floors throughout the house, or should I carpet only the bedrooms?

Besides the hardwood floors I am ecstatic over my new shower and bathroom. I'm still waiting for the mirror, the cabinet for above the toilet, and curtains/accessories.

All this home construction is making me eager to see the end result. Upcoming projects include building sun room, walk in closet, new heating system, and finishing up front and back landscape. Stay tuned!!

Home Remodel

Since February seventh of this year my home has undergone many changes. I can not describe how tiring home construction is. I think I have given up on trying to keep my home organized for the remainder of this process. Seriously, Every time I go to organize something, I am having to move it all over again, in order for the workers to access that spot. Right now my belongings are spread out through the house and laundry is everywhere. Some days I do not even know what is clean or what is dirty. I have had my water and power shut off numerous times in order for the re-piping and rewiring to be completed. It's pretty amazing how much I now appreciate being able to wash my clothes or dishes when ever I like. On a positive note, I was able to catch up on some reading while the power was out. Yup, I finally read through my weekly stacks of magazines that I get in the mail. Through out all this construction, I feel like I am really getting a hands on experience that will help me to relate to my future customers as an interior designer. With the way that these contractors have handled my home remodel I do believe they could be an opportune company to work with. This whole experience has really been quite fun, the relationship I have built with my contractors has a great balance of friendship and business. Between the pool, bathrooms, and closet being remodeled they have really helped out tremendously. I'm hoping that the sun room addition goes just as smoothly. With all this talk of remodeling I can't leave you without before and after pictures!! I hope you enjoy taking part in this process of my home remodeling and enjoy seeing what things can become.

Here is the pool with all the previous plaster ripped out. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of the original pool

This is what the pool looks like now that it has been replastered and retiled.

This awful shower was the original shower from the 50's. I guess maroon and pink were top choice then.

I was so happy to see all that horrid tile gone!!

Here is my new bath tub. As you can see it has been positioned different. This was possible because I had them push the wall to the right back more to create a larger bathroom. Behind that wall is actually the bathroom to the master bedroom.

This was the process of having four 20 plus feet cypress trees removed from the front yard.

Where the trees used to call home, they made a horrible mess on the floor and roof. they also housed rodents such as rats and squirrels. These rodents accessed my roof from these trees. GROSS!!

This is the start of a beautiful new flower bed. I'm very excited to start planting.

STAY TUNED FOR MORE POSTS AND PICTURES ON THIS HOME REMODEL!! Please feel free to share your tips, advice, and opinions on this whole process.
